St. John’s Health Employed Provider Specializing in Orthopaedic Trauma
Biography:
Dr. Jason Provus, orthopedic trauma and fracture specialist, was inspired to become a doctor by his father (and hero), a skilled and caring radiologist. He completed medical school at the Chicago Medical School, followed by residency at the San Francisco Orthopedic Residency Program, and further specialized via the San Diego Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship Program. Additionally, Dr. Provus has served on three medical missions to under-served communities in Bhutan, Guatemala and Ecuador.
His passion for medicine is fueled by the profound impact he has on patients in their most challenging and vulnerable moments. Blending humility, compassion, empathy and surgical skill, Dr. Provus supports patients beyond the physical aspects of recovery to prioritize the emotional well-being of his patients and their ability to return to an active, fulfilling life post-recovery. Beyond the hospital, Dr. Provus enjoys wine-making — inspired by a decade of living in Napa and a family-owned commercial winery — gardening, fine-tuning his pizza-making skills and all things related to Chicago sports. Along with his wife and son, they pursue mountain adventures as well as their trio of beloved dogs.
